I am a graduate student, and I retook a class to receive a better grade. Will my old grade be replaced by my new grade?
No. The old grade and new grade will still appear on the Graduate Transcript/Record. Note that this will not affect your GPA as graduate students do not have an official GPA. For further questions regarding Course Repeats and Grading for Graduate students, please contact graduate@unl.edu.
What does an Incomplete ('I') grade mean?
An Incomplete ('I') grade is assigned when a student has not completed the course and has entered an agreement with the instructor to complete coursework. Once that is coursework is completed, the instructor will update the grade based on the completed work.
If the grade has not been updated for an undergraduate student within one year, the Incomplete will change to a failing grade ('F').
More information, including the full policy, is located at /academic-standards/academic-policies/incomplete-grade/.
